U.V. Coating
The Fontana Group's new High Speed Coater can handle all your U.V. Coating needs.
U.V. Finishing Guidelines
- Minimum sheet size is 13" x 20"
- Maximum sheet size is 38" x 50"
- Minimum sheet weight 70# book
- Maximum sheet weight 24 pt.
- U.V. can only be applied to coated press sheets
- All inks must be UV compatible and completely dry.
- Metallic inks are not receptive to coating. Imitation metallics are
recommended, but must be tested
- Alkaline pigments such as reflex blue, rhodamine red, PMS purple, etc.
cannot be coated.
- Varnish and aqueous coatings must be a compatible primer and not an over
coat.
- Spray powder must be at a minimum to prevent reoughness.
- Press sheets need to have 1/2" gripper edge on all sides.
- Some paper may crack and inks may flake on scores and folds.
- Standard U.V. coatings are not receptive to gluing, foil stamping or
labeling.
- Plates for pattern U.V. coating require a reverse reading negative, emulsion
down.
- Pattern areas may vary up to 1/32".
- Provide a die line when glue tab knockouts are required.
